Montenegro's trade deficit widened to EUR 307.5 million in October 2024 from EUR 283.1 million in the corresponding month of the year. Considering January to October 2024, the country's trade gap increased to EUR 2,921.6 million from EUR 2,635.4 million in the same period last year. Exports plunged 15% in that period to EUR 479.8 million, weighed down by mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials (-50.7%) and manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (-45.2%). Meanwhile, imports rose 6.3% to EUR 3,401.3 million, driven by higher purchases of beverages and tobacco (6.6%), mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials (9%), animal oils and fats (18.1%), chemicals (8.7%), machinery and transport equipment (12.5%), and miscellaneous manufactured articles (5.8%).
