The DAX finished about 0.7% higher at 21,439 on Tuesday, hitting a fresh record peak, following yesterday's losses, which were triggered by concerns over the high valuations of some companies and the growth prospects of AI. Traders focused on corporate results, while awaiting the Fed's two-day policy meeting outcome on Wednesday and the ECB's decision on Thursday. Biopharmaceutical firm Sartorius was the top performer on the index, jumping 11.2% after the company said in a preliminary full-year release that it had met profitability targets and had a “cautiously positive” outlook for 2025. SAP, Europe’s largest software manufacturer also released its earnings for Q4, reporting significant revenue growth despite a sharp decline in net profits. Siemens Energy AG increased its cash flow outlook for the year after beating analysts’ revenue and profit estimates in its fiscal first quarter.
