Sydney November 27.
Dealers report order books loaded with stop losses this morning, many option
related, as players short volatility look to cover. The EUR/USD opened at 1.3100
and has surged to test 1.3180; the USD/JPY fell from 115.96 to 115.59, causing
the EUR/JPY to surge from 151.75 to 152.45. GBP/USD jumped from 1.9325 to 1.9460
and the USD/CHF fell from 1.2085 to test 1.2020.
The market is thin and nervous, waiting for the Asian players to add some
liquidity. The usual reaction to an early move is a session of retracement, but
if the option market is under extreme stress this USD move could feed on itself,
generating further USD selling interest. The EUR/USD trades 1.3167/70.
