[13:11 EUR/USD: Speculation USD Weakness An Attack on Bush] Boston, October 18:
Speculation in the press today is that some well known and well heeled political
opponents of President Bush are trying to "paint the tape" ahead of the US
election. There have been several rounds of large selling on the Tradesports.com
Bush contract that run counter to the President"s recent uptick in the polls.
Some suspect that the same is in play in the dollar, with hedge funds trying to
create a pre-election USD "crisis". If Kerry starts talking about fading
international support for the dollar, you"ll know it's a coordinated attack.
EUR/USD has pushed up to 1.2525 in the wake of the TIC data. 1.2540 is strong
resistance.
